The B & R Automation X20DI6553 is a digital input module which belongs to the comprehensive X20 range of products suitable for various industrial automation applications. In this module there are six digital inputs and its working voltage is 100-120VAC which makes it compatible to work with most electrical systems. The module has a range of rated frequency 47 to 63 Hz and has 1-wire connection interface. Its input filter is set by default at 1ms but it can be adjusted to as low as 0ms and as high as 25ms in 0. This is done at 2 ms intervals, thus providing the flexibility that is required in different applications.

This module is designed to work in different conditions; the operating temperature range is from -25 degrees C to 60 degrees C in horizontal position and from -25 degrees C to 50 degrees C in the vertical position. It also can operate in storage and transport temperatures of -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C. The X20DI6553 has the threshold level of switching with the low threshold of less than 20 VAC and high threshold of more than 79 VAC. It has an isolation voltage of 1500 VAC/ minute between the channels and the bus.

When it comes to the power consumption, the X20DI6553 is rather moderate consuming 0.21 W from the bus and 0.68 W from external I/O devices. Its design meets the IP20 protection standards; thus, it can be used in the controlled environment where there is a need for protection against the dust and small particles.
