The B & R Automation X20DI4375 is one of the digital input modules from the X20 series which is used in various industrial automation systems. Based on a nominal voltage of 24VDC, this module has some enhanced characteristics that guarantee its efficiency in operation. It has a low bus power consumption of only 0.01 W and an internal I/O power consumption of 1.1 W. The X20DI4375 is provided with a 3-wire connection type while the input circuit is intended for sink type connections. Some of the features are the open-circuit and short-circuit detection which can be enabled or disabled per channel to suit the desired fault management. This module has also provided power supply for the sensors with four channels each delivering 50mA to power the sensors.
For the purpose of operational monitoring and diagnostics the module contains a number of status indicators, including for I/O functions per channel, operating state, module status, sensor line and sensor power supply. It is capable of detecting module run/error, open circuit, short circuit, sensor power supply problems and other channel problems. The module has an input filter with hardware response time of 0.8 ms and software filtering which is programmable and varies from 0 to 25 ms with an increment of 0.2 ms increments. The module is protected with an IP20 degree of protection according to the EN 60529 standard which provides sufficient protection against ingress of dust and against contact with small objects such as tools in industrial applications.
The design of the module allows for both horizontal and vertical installation with temperature operating range of -25 degrees C to 60 degrees C for horizontal and -25 degrees C to 50 degrees C for vertical installation. It also supports extreme conditions with storage and transport temperature ranging from -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C for the storage and transport.
