X20DI4371 is a digital I/O module. It is compatible with X20 industrial control systems from B & R Automation. The module is equipped with four digital inputs. Voltage rating for the input channels is 24 Volts DC. These inputs require 3-wire connections. There are three LEDs on the module that indicate status of the module and its operating state, and I/O channel state. In addition to LEDs, software allows access to module diagnostics. Power consumed by the module bus is 0.14 Watts. Power consumed by the internal I/O is 0.59 Watts. The typical input current at 24 Volts DC is 3.75 milliamps. Each of the input is a sink type circuit. Specifications for the hardware input filter include less than 100 microseconds delay. For the software input filter, the default delay is 1 millisecond, and the delay is configurable between 0 and 25 milliseconds in 0.2 millisecond increments.

The typical input resistance is 6.4 kiloohms. Switching threshold for the low state is less than 5 Volts DC. Switching threshold for the high state is greater than 15 Volts DC. The specified insulation voltage between the bus and channel is 500 Volts (effective). The 4 event counters support square wave pulse. The maximum input frequency is 1 kilohertz and the maximum counter frequency is 1 kilohertz. The counter size is 16-bit. Specifications for the sensor power supply include maximum 12 Watts power consumption, maximum 2 Volts DC voltage drop for short-circuit protection, 0.5 Amps summation current and short-circuit protection.
