Product Description
The X20DC11A6 is an X20 digital counter module that is intended for processing digital signals from other devices or modules. The X20DC11A6 contains a special ABR incremental encoder, which requires a symmetrical supply voltage of 5 volts. During operation, the incremental encoder's maximum frequency is 5 MHz using a counter size of either 16 or 32 bits. The slew rate, expressed in V/microsecond, describes how quickly a signal changes over time. For the X20DC11A6's incremental encoder, the minimum differential slew rate is 1 V/microsecond. At most, the encoder needs a current supply capable of providing a maximum current of 300 mA.
Aside from its ABR incremental encoder, the X20DC11A6 offers two extra digital inputs that may be used for processing output digital signals from other X20 units. The nominal voltage for these channels is 24 VDC, allowing a maximum deviation of -15% or 20%. The expected behavior of the digital input channels is to serve as sinks in the system. Approximately, each channel tolerates a maximum input current of 3.3 mA at 24 VDC. The input resistance for this module is 7.03 kOhms, which is close to the estimated value of 7.27 kOhms, obtained by getting the quotient of 24 V and 3.3 mA.
Like other digital counter modules under the X20 series, the X20DC11A6's channels are not isolated from one another but are isolated from the main bus. The X20DC11A6 supports horizontal and vertical installations, resulting in the following permissible temperature ranges: -25 to 60 degrees Celsius (horizontal orientation) and -25 to 50 degrees Celsius (vertical orientation). During transport, operation, and storage, the recommended relative humidity must always be non-condensing between 5 and 95 percent.
