The X20CS2770 is a communication module produced by B&R Automation. It is created to seamlessly integrate complex devices into the X20 system via two CAN bus interfaces. This module supports serial and remote connections and delivers a flexible solution for expanding the capabilities of the control system.

The X20 series communication module is known for its trustworthy performance and compatibility with various industrial applications that require rugged communication and control. The Can bus communication module features two CAN bus interfaces which are capable of a maximum transfer rate of 1 Mbit/s and a maximum distance of 1000 meters. These interfaces are managed by the SJA 1000 controllers and are connected via a 12-pin terminal block (X20TB12). The integrated terminating resistors are included in both interfaces. The power consumption is minimal as the module draws 0.01 W from the bus and up to 1.5 W internally. This B & R communication module is designed with electrical isolation between the CAN interfaces and the bus/I/O power supply. The communication module is certified for various industrial standards and meets UKCA, CE, and ATEX Zone 2 requirements, which renders it suitable for hazardous locations. It is also approved by UL for industrial control and process control equipment, with additional certifications including DNV, CCS, and KC.

The X20CS2770 operates in a wide range of environmental conditions, with a temperature range of -25 degrees C to 60 degrees C and humidity tolerance up to 95%. The IP20-rated CAN bus communication module is capable of being mounted either horizontally or vertically and is engineered for operation at altitudes up to 2000 meters.
