The X20CS1030 communication module is designed by B & R Automation. This module is an integral component within the X20 system and it is specifically devised to facilitate the remote and serial connection of complex devices via RS485/RS422 interfaces.

This module is designed to support the connection of complex industrial devices that require vital communication capabilities over long distances. The X20 communication module supports RS485 and RS422 communication standards and adjusts up to 32 stations for RS485 and up to 10 receivers for RS422. The module operates at a maximum transfer rate of 115.2 kbit/s. A key feature of this X20 series module is its integrated terminating resistor which helps maintain signal integrity across the communication line. The connections are made using a 12-pin terminal block (X20TB12). This communication module also includes a FIFO buffer with a capacity of 1 kB which enhances its ability to manage data traffic effectively. The diagnostic features of this X20 Series communication module are built-in, along with LED status indicators for data transfer, operating state, module status, and terminating resistor status.

The X20CS1030 is certified for operation in hazardous environments and complies with CE, UKCA, ATEX, UL, and DNV. It is designed to operate within a temperature range of -25 to 60 degrees C and it is capable of functioning at altitudes up to 2000 meters without performance degradation.
