Product Description

The X20cIF1061-1 is a DNV-compliant interface module custom built for establishing communication between several devices using the PROFIBUS DP protocol. The PROFIBUS DP protocol (Decentralized Peripherals) is suitable for automation and industrial applications, providing high-speed communication and real-time feedback and control. Instead of a bus or star topology, this communication protocol utilizes a master-slave topology, like the Powerlink protocol. With the X20cIF1061-1, third-party components can easily be incorporated in the X20 or B&R Industrial Automation system. It allows data transfer in both directions, which makes it excel for control system applications. The module employs a layer of coating, preventing it from being adversely affected by corrosion and condensation.

The X20cIF1061-1 has a corresponding B&R ID code of 0xE234, and it employs a set of status LEDs for indicating the module status, network status, and data transfer. Nominally, this interface module needs 1.8 watts of power. Its one and only interface, IF1, uses a 9-pin female DSUB connector for initiating fieldbus communication via PROFIBUS DP protocol. Its interface permits a maximum bit rate of 12 Mbit/s at a ceiling distance of 1200 meters. The X20cIF1061-1 also incorporates 8 MB of SDRAM and a netX100 controller to successfully initiate device communication. Aside from the mentioned features, the interface also permits a maximum cyclic data of 3.5 kB.

To prevent short-circuits, the X20cIF1061-1's interface is isolated from the slot for the programmable logic controller (PLC). To facilitate PROFIBUS DP communication, the optional accessory with model code OG1000.00-090 may be used. The X20cIF1061-1 serves as a bus connector for both PROFIBUS and RS485 networks. The X20cIF1061-1 is compatible with both the X20's CPUs or expandable controllers, such as the X20BC1083.
