Product Description
The X20cIF1041-1 is an exclusive interface module built for establishing CANopen communication. As a CAN interface module, it utilizes a terminating resistor that halts signal transmission. The terminating resistor is particularly useful for preventing information from reflecting back to the source since the CAN bus protocol allows data to move in either direction. The X20cIF1041-1 requires a terminal block to function. Some of the best terminal blocks that work with the X20cIF1041-1 are the OTB2105.9010 and the OTB2105.9110. The first terminal block is a 5-pin screw clamp, while the second block is a 5-pin push-in type. These terminal blocks, however, must be bought separately from B&R.
The X20cIF1041-1 has an intuitive interface that features a set of status LEDs, providing the user with diagnostic information during operation. The X20cIF1041-1 consumes a total of 1.1 watts and operates at -25 to 60 deg C when installed horizontally or at -25 to 50 deg C when installed vertically. As per EN 60529, the X20cIF1041-1 features a protection category of IP 20, which is the standard degree of protection for most of X20's modular devices. For this interface module, the programmable logic control (PLC) is isolated from interface 1 (IF1) for CANopen.
Focusing on its interface, the X20cIF1041-1 has a fieldbus for CANopen master and facilitates a maximum transfer speed of 1000 Mbps. At this rate, the maximum allowable distance is 1000 meters. The X20cIF1041-1 employs a 5-pin male connector for establishing physical connection. It features a netX100 controller and a synchronous dynamic random-access memory with 8 MB of capacity. For installation levels above 2000 meters, the X20cIF1041-1 experiences no derating, but its ambient temperature range decreases by 0.5 degrees Celsius for every 100 meters.
