Product Description
The X20cCS1030 is a coated interface module that features RS485/RS422 serial connections and a built-in terminating resistor. The CS modules under the X20 series are suitable for interfacing together different complex devices and establishing communication between them. The X20cCS1030 is a special interface module that comes with a special layer of coating. Coated modules under B&R Automation's X20 series have resistance against corrosive environments and condensation. At most, this communication module facilitates data transmission at a rate of 115.2 kbps. In order to use this interface module, however, an appropriate bus module and terminal block must be present.
Some of the compatible bus modules for the X20cCS1030 are as follows: X20BM11, X20BM15, and X20cBM11. Meanwhile, two appropriate terminal blocks for this interface module are the X20TB06 and X20TB12. During operation, this module uses a set of status LEDs to provide a general overview of the processes occurring within the module. Normally, the X20cCS1030's bus dissipates 0.1 watts of power, while its internal I/O consumes up to 1.44 watts. Its main interface is dedicated for establishing RS485/RS422 serial communication and uses a 12-pin terminal block. The RS485 supports a maximum of 32 stations, while the RS422 supports only 10 stations at a time. The controller for this serial interface is a 16C550 compatible UART type.
The X20cCS1030 supports horizontal and vertical installations, as long as 12.5 millimeters of spacing from adjacent modules is observed. The X20cCS1030 must be kept at an environment not exceeding 85 degrees Celsius during transport or storage. During operation, the X20cCS1030 can only withstand 60 degrees Celsius when horizontally installed and 50 degrees Celsius when vertically configured.
