Product Description
The X20BM15 is much like B&R Industrial Automation's X20BM12 bus module. However, instead of serving as a base module for 240 VAC X20 units, the X20BM15 is compatible with 24 VDC X20 I/O modules. It features a set of node switches that configure the addresses for establishing communication. The internal I/O supply for this bus module is connected and permits 10 amperes of current. The supply module runs at a rated potential difference or electromotive force of 24 volts DC. During operation, the X20BM15 uses no actuators, keeping the power consumption minimal at 0.13 watts.
To configure the permanent address, the X20BM15's node number switches may be used. By setting a unique starting address, successive modules are assigned in ascending order after the starting unique address. Although the node number switch can manually assign a permanent address, automatic address assignment may also be implemented at any time. Another advantage that the X20BM15 offers is that it has an independent module for electronics, ensuring that the I/O modules are independent of the addresses used. During the operational period, the X20BM15 can withstand 60 degrees Celsius of ambient temperature when installed horizontally and 50 degrees Celsius when configured vertically.
The X20BM15 incorporates a standard protection category of IP 20. For most of X20's bus modules, the IP 20 protection grade is adequate for mitigating risks of electrical shock via finger contact. Other modules that incorporate node number switches are still compatible with the X20BM15. For such modules, special symbols are integrated on their locking levers for easier identification.
