Product Description
B&R Industrial Automation is known for revolutionizing industrial automation globally. With the number of X20 devices that you can use to make your industrial operation easier, keeping track and managing all microdevices becomes a relatively complex task. For this purpose, B&R has released separate bus modules to interconnect and manage smaller devices as part of a larger system. One bus module that is straightaway compatible for X20 I/O modules running at 240 VAC is the X20BM12. It is specifically designed to handle alternating current modules, featuring an interconnected internal I/O supply. This bus module performs well at different systems while consuming only 0.13 watts.
The X20BM12 has a coated version, which is immune to corrosive gases and condensation. The coated version, however, is much more expensive and comes under a different material code and model. Both its versions, however, utilize an I/O power supply that functions at a nominal voltage of 24 volts DC, permitting a theoretical load of 10 amperes. The X20BM12 supports various methods and installation orientations. By default, the horizontal orientation allows the X20BM12 to withstand up to 60 degrees Celsius of ambient temperature, while the vertical orientation allows only a maximum ambient temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. During storage and transport, the maximum ambient temperature permissible is 85 degrees Celsius or 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Beyond the said temperatures, components inside the X20BM12 may malfunction or experience irreversible damages.
To facilitate proper ventilation and minimize communication interferences, the recommended spacing for the X20BM12 is 12.5 millimeters. This pitch or spacing allows a maximum absolute deviation value of 2 millimeters. Hence the permissible spacing range for this bus module is between 10.5 and 14.5 millimeters.
