The X20BC0043-C01 is a programmable logic controller that is compatible with a wide variety of X20 modules and unit devices. It serves as a processing unit for facilitating CANopen slave communication. For this module, the terminal block, bus base, and power supply modules must be bought separately. The Fieldbus CANopen slave incorporates a 5-pin multipoint connector for initiating data transfer and communication. At most, the X20BC0043-C01 supports a transfer distance of 1000 meters at a speed of 1 Mbit/s. By default, the X20BC0043-C01 automatically controls the rate of data transfer but may be configured to transmit data at a fixed rate.

Aside from its interface, the X20BC0043-C01 also provides basic diagnostics to let the user know about the status of its internal processes during operation. These diagnostics are facilitated using a set of status LEDs. These status LEDs light up when the module is on, the bus functions, there is data transfer, and/or the terminating resistor is active.
