Product Description
The X20BB80 belongs under B&R Automation's specialized X20 bus module product class. It incorporates lightweight construction and functions as a viable bus base and module for all of X20's bus controllers (BC) and Hub expansion (HB) products. It also supports integration of X20 supply modules and comes with both end cover plates upon purchase and delivery. Optionally, the X20BB80 may be coated for an added layer of protection. The coated version, however, comes under a separate material number, X20cBB80. Approximately, the X20BB80's bus consumes a rated power of 0.25 watts during operation.
The X20BB80 supports either vertical or horizontal modes of mounting. Depending on the final choice of mounting orientation, the operating temperature range changes. When mounted vertically, the recommended temperature range is smaller, starting from -25 up to 50 degrees Celsius. When horizontally mounted, the temperature range is slightly larger, from -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. During storage and transport, the X20BB80 withstands a temperature between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity, which is another factor under the ambient condition, must be kept between 5 and 95 percent at all times. Based on the detailed datasheet of the X20BB80, the ambient temperature reduces by 0.5 degrees centigrade for every 100 meters exceeding 2 kilometers above sea level.
The X20BB80 has a rated pitch or spacing of 37.5 millimeters. Some deviation from this recommended pitch is acceptable, as long as the deviation's absolute value does not exceed two millimeters. The X20BB80's I/O power supply designates a permissible contact load of up to 10 amps at an estimated rated voltage of 24 volts, DC. Wake Industrial offers a one-year product warranty for all available bus base modules by B&R, including the X20BB80.
