Product Description
Before purchasing a bus base module for your system, careful consideration of several factors must be first taken into account. For one, the type of controller that you would be connecting determines the appropriate bus base model. Aside from the type of controllers, PLCs, and supply modules, the type of communication protocols and number of interface slots come as secondary considerations. And as far as expandability and compatibility are concerned, B&R Automation's X20BB77 provides several options for interconnecting controllers, supply modules, and bases under the Compact-S product series. It supports RS232 and CAN bus serial mode of connections and provides two slots for X20 interface modules.
For this bus base module, the Compact-S controller must be assigned to the rightmost slot, leaving other interfaces and slots for other X20 modules and units. During operation, the X20BB77's bus dissipates 1.17 watts of power. When using the CAN bus interface, the terminating resistor may be activated or deactivated any time using a special mechanical switch. Under the X20BB77's supply module, the LED T indicates whether the terminating resistor is functional or not. Like most, if not all, B&R bus base modules, the I/O power supply operates at a voltage of 24 VDC and permits a load contact of 10 Coulomb/second.
In terms of its operating temperature ranges, the X20BB77 designates two different temperature ranges depending on its mounting orientation. When mounted horizontally, the default range of temperature is from -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. Conversely, when mounted vertically, the temperature range during operation goes down to -25 to 50 degrees Celsius. Purchasing this bus base module from Wake Industrial grants you an exclusive bus base module warranty.
