Product Description
The X20BB57 supports two communication interfaces for initiating cross-communication between X20 modules and devices. These two serial communication protocols are the CAN bus and RS232 communication protocols. The CAN bus connection is a famous communication protocol for automotive systems and can transfer data and signals in either way. To terminate signals upon successful delivery, the X20BB57 integrates a terminating resistor for this purpose. Fundamentally, the function of the X20BB57 is to provide a solid base for all of the X20 controllers under the Compact-S product line. The X20 cover plates found on the left and right sides of the X20BB57 are included upon delivery.
As a compact bus base module, the X20BB57 has a recommended pitch of 37.5 millimeters. It adheres to standards established by DNV, allowing it to perform seamlessly even at a temperature of 55 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, this bus base module also resists a maximum equivalent vibration of 4 grams. During the nominal operating period, the ambient temperature must be kept between -25 and 60 degrees Celsius. At this temperature range, the corresponding relative humidity must be between 5 and 95 percent. Adhering to these recommended ambient and operating conditions prevents subpar performance and damage to the X20BB57.
The X20BB57's rated power consumption is 0.55 watts, which is similar to the power consumption of most B&R Automation's bus base modules. Throughout the length of operation, the module's I/O power supply permits 10 amperes of contact load at a nominal voltage of 24 volts. The nominal voltage rating is direct-current voltage, which means that throughout the operation, the I/O power supply provides a stable voltage profile without oscillations.
