Product Description:
The X20BB52 is a specialized bus base unit module for B&R Automation's Compact-S programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The Compact-S controllers belong to the X20 product series, and they excel for applications with limited installation space. In terms of communication capabilities, however, the Compact-S controllers provide several options to choose from. The X20BB52, in particular, serves as the base for these controllers, allowing interconnection and power supply regulation during operation. It offers an interface for RS232 connection, allowing different X20 units within the system to communicate. Like other bus base modules, the X20BB52 incorporates the end cover plates right on delivery.
Based on the official datasheet, the X20BB52's I/O supply provides a rated or terminal voltage of 24 VDC. The permissible current load for this product's I/O power supply is 10 amps. From sea level up to 2000 meters above sea level, the X20BB52 experiences no limitation, deration, or environmental factors that affect performance. For every 100 meters beyond the said range, however, the ambient temperature decreases by half a degree Celsius, which in turn may affect module performance. Speaking of ambient temperature, the recommended range for this product model is between -25 and 60 degrees Celsius. For storage and transport purposes, the temperature range is wider, from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. No matter the condition, the relative humidity must be kept between 5 and 95 percent.
The X20BB52 may be mounted horizontally or vertically. In the case that the X20BB52 will be used in conjunction with other X20 unit modules, B&R recommends a spacing of at least 37.5 mm between adjacent components. At Wake Industrial, the X20BB52 comes with an exclusive one-year unit module warranty.
