Product Description
The X20BB32 is a compatible bus base module for almost all of X20's Fieldbus CPUs. It belongs to one of B&R Automation's most sought-after product lines, the X20 series. It serves as a base for housing an X20 Fieldbus unit or power supply module. It also provides a slot for X20 connections and other interface modules. Upon purchase, both the left and right X20 cover plates are included. To properly attach the Fieldbus CPU, it must be placed on the X20BB32's rightmost slot. This bus base module is ideal for interconnecting X20 fieldbus units and providing an interface for establishing an RS232 connection.
As an electrical component, the X20BB32's average bus power consumption is 0.35 watts. Most bus base modules of this size consume around 0.15 to 0.50 watts. Since it does not incorporate actuators, no additional power is dissipated. In terms of its I/O power supply, the recommended terminal voltage for this bus base model is 24 VDC. Although the X20BB32 requires a nominal voltage of 24 VDC, it may still work even under some voltage fluctuation. As a rule of thumb, however, voltage fluctuations must be kept at a minimum, ideally below +/- 25%. During rated conditions, the X20BB32 permits a maximum load contact of 10 amperes. Since this bus base model is one of the earliest bus bases released by B&R, the RS232 interface is not isolated from the bus.
The X20BB32's front casing features a protection grade of IP 20. Depending on the intended application, it supports both horizontal and vertical mounting orientations. To ensure seamless operation of the X20BB32, it is advisable to keep the ambient temperature range between -25 to 60 degrees Celsius during operation.
