Product Description
The X20AO4623 automation module provides a robust and efficient solution for linking decentralized I/O devices to the X20 control system. As an integral part of the X20 series, it plugs directly into the backplane and accommodates up to two additional I/O modules through dedicated interface slots. Communication between the module and field-level nodes occurs over the high-speed POWERLINK industrial Ethernet protocol.
By integrating POWERLINK hub functionality, the X20AO4623 streamlines system wiring and configuration. I/O devices connect to it using X2X Link, with the module then interfacing to the POWERLINK network.
Leveraging this fieldbus, module parameters and firmware can be conveniently updated from the controller level. Engineers benefit from simplified stocking and installation of pre-tested node combinations. Precise synchronization of controller and peripheral tasks is supported through 1:1 or POWERLINK cycle timing options. This ensures deterministic execution of safety, motion control, and process-critical applications. Even complex distributed logic schemes operate predictably and without interruptions. Combined 2W power consumption from the fieldbus and internal connections contributes little heat within panel enclosures.
Rugged construction endures vibration and contamination through an IP20-rated aluminum casing. Global certifications including CE, UKCA, and ATEX Zone 2 further approve its installation virtually anywhere. Customers can rely on dependable and standards-compliant performance for automation projects worldwide. By providing a standardized link from X20 processors to remote I/O racks, sensor terminals, and actuating devices, the X20AO4623 facilitates versatile machine interfacing strategies. Plant engineers gain maximum flexibility in layouts while maintaining high-speed deterministic communication down to the field level. Overall, it enables efficient scaling and distributed control architectures to match evolving automation needs.
