X20AI1744-3 is a <,digital I/O>> module with one full-bridge strain-gauge input. A strain gauge converts force, pressure, tension, or weight into a change in electrical resistance that can be measured. The output rate for data is configurable from 0.1 hertz to 7.5 kilohertz. Two special operating modes are available: multiple sampling and synchronous mode. The filter level is also configurable. The X20AI1744-3 module works with 6-wire and 4-wire strain-gauge load cells. The strain gauge factor range is 2 to 256 millivolts per Volts. This range is software configurable. The input type is differential. Resolution of the digital converter is 24 bits>.. The conversion time depends on the configured data output rate, which is configurable from 0.1 to 7500 samples per second. This output rate is also software configurable. Cutoff frequency for the input filter is 5 Hertz. This is a 3rd order filter with 60 dB slope. The ADC filter uses < conversion method. Operating range per measurement sensor is 85 to 5000 Ohms. RC input protection is available on the X20AI1744-3 module. The common mode range is 0 to 30 Volts DC. Effective 500 Volts isolation is provided between the module bus and the input. Power supply specifications for the strain gauge include 5.5 Volts DC with maximum 65 milliamps current. Short-circuit and overload protection is available. The voltage drop for short-circuit protection is 0.2 Volts DC maximum at 65 milliamps at 25 degrees Celsius. Quantization depends on the strain gauge factor and varies with the resolution used. The maximum gain drift is 12 ppm per degree Celsius. The maximum offset drift is 2 ppm per degree Celsius. Nonlinearity for the ADC is less than 10 ppm.
