Product Description
The B&R 2NW100.50-1 PROFIBUS Network Module is a crucial component for integrating B&R System 2010 with PROFIBUS networks, facilitating efficient and reliable communication in industrial automation environments. This module was launched in 2010 and comes with two RS485 interfaces that are electrically isolated to ensure a strong connection between them and any other device on the PROFIBUS network. The module uses a 9-pin D-type socket for each of its interfaces, making connecting cables more secure than using an open pin.
This device supports several baud rates with different maximum distances: 9.6 kBit/sec: up to 1200 meters, 19.2 kBit/sec: up to 1200 meters, 93.75 kBit/sec: up to 1200 meters, 187.5 kBit/sec: up to 1000 meters, and 500 kBit/sec: up to 400 meters. The module operates under the token-passing principle as specified by the standard DIN19245 part 1&2 of the PROFIBUS master-slave protocol, where repeaters are used to handle up to 127 stations connected physically in bus topology directly through shielded twisted pair cables. It has diagnostic LEDs indicating its status at any given time and four switches used for setting module address, station address, and baud rate respectively.
It can be integrated easily into existing systems since it is compatible with base plates BP101 or BP110; this also helps in reducing power consumption because, when used together, these devices only consume a maximum of fifteen watts, whereas if used individually their consumption might go beyond twenty watts. With a height of 285 millimeters, width of 40 millimeters, and depth of 185 millimeters; this small-sized yet able-bodied product, called the B&R 2NW100.50-1 PROFIBUS Network Module, is designed to be reliable and flexible enough for use in various applications such as connecting B&R System 2010 with different networks like PROFIBUS among others within industrial automation environments.
