Product Description
The 2NW100 is a PROFIBUS Network Module manufactured in 2010. It interfaces with a PROFIBUS network through two RS485 ports that are electrically isolated from each other. This module, which is listed by C-UL-US, assures high safety and reliability; it can work together with BP101 or BP110 basic plate modules. The supported baud rates and distances include: 9.6 kBit/sec 1200 meters max distance; 19.2 kBit/sec 1200 meters max distance; 93.75 kBit/sec 1200 meters max distance; 187.5 kBit/sec up to (but not including) 1000 meters; as well as the maximum of 500 kBit/sec over the range of up to (but not including) 400 meters.
The module operates according to the PROFIBUS standard (DIN19245 part1&2). The token passing principle based on the master/slave principle is used in this device, which supports up to 127 stations (with repeater) in physical bus topology. Shielded twisted pair transfer media are used for direct connection between this device and the bus line.
This device, i.e., NW100, features diagnostic LEDs for ERROR, RUN, CONNECT, COMM, Tx (data transmission), Rx (data reception). DIAGNOSTICS BUS B LED has no function currently, but other LEDs show many different status information about the systems operation itself. Four-module address setting, station address setting, as well as baud rate setting, ensures flexible configuration capability. It requires a maximum power consumption of 15W only; its height is 285mm, width 40mm, depth 185mm. The software available from B&R Company makes it possible to operate MICROMASTERPROFIBUS module better than ever before so that users can easily integrate them into their own systems if they wish.
