Product Description

The 2DO600.6 digital output module is an advanced part of the B&R System 2010 that can meet different needs of industrial automation. It was presented in 2010 and has 32 relay outputs. These relay outputs are divided into eight groups, each containing four. Such a design makes the system safer and less susceptible to interferences, ensuring more reliable digital signal processing and control. Each separate output functions as an NO (normally open) relay with the ability to switch a nominal voltage of 120 VAC or 24 VDC, with a maximum value reaching 144 VAC or 30 VDC. There is an option for continuous current up to 2 A per channel, up to 8 A per group, and up to 32 A for all channels of this module together.

Switching capacity ranges from min. 1 mA at 5 VDC up to max. 750 VA/90 W, offering wide application possibilities. To guarantee higher reliability and safety of operation between groups (GNDs) as well as between outputs (O+) /PCC (GND), electrical isolation measures were applied by designers. However, individual outputs within the same group have no isolation among themselves. The switching time delay is about 10 milliseconds.

Short circuit protection includes a slow-blow fuse rated at least/but not lower than 10A per group, thus external protective circuits should be used additionally for better performance and safety reasons too. Relay contacts can withstand peak-to-peak voltage limits of up to 400V while contact resistance at max load is equal to about 30m1/2. Mechanical switching cycle life exceeds over twenty million operations on average during product lifetime, whereas electrical switching cycle life reaches over one hundred thousand operations at nominal load current within specified parameters. Considering high values so far mentioned here, it should be added that this device may switch even six hundred times per hour under nominal loads, but the maximum switching frequency cannot exceed 10Hz at nominal load.
