The 2BP300.4 is a base plate module manufactured in 2010 which can hold two CPU modules equipped with bus termination for the system bus to guarantee strong performance in any industrial environment. This module listed by C-UL-US adheres to strict safety standards, and its size is 285mm x 80mm x 20mm (height/width/depth). There are six status LEDs as well as an alphanumeric LCD display showing two lines of eight characters each giving quick and easy status information.

There are several different standard communication interfaces supported by this module. No isolation on the RS232 interface (IF1) which connects through a 9-pin D-type plug supporting up to 15 meters distance and up to 64 kBaud baud rate. The RS232/TTY interface (IF2) has isolation, it allows for maximum distances of 15 meters for RS232 and even may reach up to 300 meters if TTY is used, both with baud rates reaching up to 64 kBaud also. RS485/RS422 isolated interface (IF3) supports maximum distance reaching up to even 1200 meters when used with baud rate equaling no more than 347 kbaud. Additionally, there is CAN isolated interface allowing for distances reaching up to 1000 meters length at different speeds starting from 50 kBits/sec going all way up to 500 kBits/sec (dependent upon length).
