Designed in 2010, the base plate module is a 2BP200.4 that is flexible enough to house one I/O module and offers strong performance and necessary features for industrial use. This listed C-UL-US system is designed to meet all safety requirements thereby making it suitable for deployment in many different types of industries. The module measures 285mm tall by 40mm wide by 20mm deep.

The 2BP200.4 has a non-volatile real-time clock powered by a lithium battery which ensures uninterrupted operation for two years at least while an additional ten minutes are supported by gold foil capacitor in CPU. The clock has a resolution of 10 milliseconds and includes battery monitoring to improve its reliability further. There are four user controls which consist of reset button, key switch and three user programmable configuration buttons (Up, Enter, Down). A status display with six status LEDs is also provided; this display comprises 02 lines each containing 08 characters as well as an alphanumeric LCD screen.

Various standard communication interfaces are supported by this unit among them being RS232 (IF1), RS232/TTY (IF2) as well as RS485/RS422 (IF3), each having specific features meant to address different connectivity needs.
