Product Description
The B&R 2AT610.6 analog input module is part of the B&R System 2010 and designed for temperature measurement with thermocouples. It was published in 2010 and has 16 differential inputs for thermocouple types L, J, K and a measuring range of -200 to +1300 C. Thus it can be used in various industrial fields where precise temperature control is required.
The module consists of four groups, each comprising four channels, which are galvanically isolated from the PCC (potential common conductor) as well as from other groups, but not among themselves. Therefore, safety requirements are met while noise immunity is increased. The nominal input signal range for these thermocouples lies within -15 to +55 mV differentially; besides, their differential input resistance exceeds 1 MOhm thereby ensuring accurate measurements under normal conditions. Additionally, there is a Bessel low pass 2nd order input filter with an 8 Hz cut-off frequency in the 2AT610.6 module; thus, it significantly reduces noise so that stable readings become possible even in noisy environments like electrically dense cabinets or near frequency converters, etcetera. DC common mode rejection ratio of this device reaches up to 80 dB, meanwhile, its AC common mode rejection ratio equals 75 dB at f=50Hz. Also, maximum modulation relative to ground is ~50 V, whereas between electrically isolated groups ~50 V.
The measurement process performed by means of the 2AT610.6 involves an integrated voltage-to-frequency converter whose adjustable measurement times per channel are: Tm = 20 ms (standard), Tm = 16.67 ms, Tm = 10 ms, Tm = 8.33 ms. The internal resolution exceeds fourteen bits, which corresponds to 2.936 uV per bit for voltage quantities or 0.1 C per bit in case of temperature values, thus enabling highly accurate readings to be taken.
