The B&R 2AO900.6 analog output module is an elaborate and adaptable component of the B&R System 2010 that can be used in various industrial automation tasks. With its release in 2010, this module provides eight voltage outputs and eight current outputs to cater to different areas. The voltage outputs have a range of -10 to +10 V while the range for current outputs is from 0 to 20 mA, each having a resolution of 12 bits which ensures accuracy and reliability in control.
Electrical isolation between the PCC and output is provided by this module so safety & performance reliability are increased though not between individual outputs. Conversion time for all channels is 250 us which makes it best suited when fast response times are required during application. Additionally, the output filter has a cutoff frequency of 1 kHz, therefore reducing noise effectively as well as improving signal clarity.
Regarding precision, the figures achieved by 2AO900.6 are commendable; ~0.25% basic precision at 20C over the entire ambient temperature range of ~0.5% from 0 - 60C for both voltage and current output signals. It allows maximum load resistances down to 600 1/2 for current output stage types with capability up to ~10 mA into loads equal or greater than 1 k1/2. Furthermore, there is short circuit protection featuring current limiting at approximately ~15 mA thus adding another level of protection. The power consumption does not exceed 12 W which means that it saves energy. The height of this device measures 285 mm while its width is around 40 mm and depth 185 mm. The compatibility options include base plates BP200, BP201, and BP210 hence allowing flexibility during system configuration design.
