The 3ME960.90-1 provides 64 KB of SRAM plus 256 KB of flash memory to augment 2005 series PLCs. This expanded capacity handles larger programs and datasets to enable advanced control techniques. Housed in a slim 4.0" x 1.0" x 6.0" envelope, the module integrates via seamless rack-mounted insertion. It leverages the System 2005 backplane and power supply for plug-and-play functionality. No interface cards or separate power connections needed.

A plastic terminal cover protects internal memory components from electrical interference for reliable datasets. It also prevents exposure to airborne contaminants prevalent in harsh industrial settings, keeping memory contents safe from corruption. This application memory module weighs only 5.0 ounces, allowing easy mounting on DIN rails. Its light mass eases handling overhead during wiring and maintenance as well. Despite the accessible design, encapsulated construction withstands constant vibration and temperature shifts. The included 64 KB SRAM provides temporary storage for register values, I/O statuses, and operating variables. Information constantly refreshes for real-time control and visualization without relying on slower flash memory.

The 256 KB flash capacity retains both user program instructions as well as stored datasets through loss of power.
