The B&R 3IF672. 9 is an efficient I/O module for industrial automation systems integration and can be easily incorporated into the system. This module has one RS232 interface and two CAN interfaces hence can be used in different communication systems.

The RS232 interface supports up to 115. 2 kBaud, commonly used in the standard industrial environment with a moderate data transmission rate over a shorter distance of up to 15 meters. All the CAN interfaces in the 3IF672. 9 is intended to work in a strong industrial environment and can transfer data at a rate of 500 Kbps to a distance of 1000 meters depending on the bus length. This is helpful for systems that need dependable information transfer over long distances in such places as factories or outdoor units where there is a need for a wide area network. The module has an electrical isolation between the interfaces and to the PLC thus protecting against any electrical interferences likely to affect the system's performance.
