The B&R Automation part number 3IF060. 6/PL3 is one of the great interface modules in the series which is widely used in the industrial environment. This module is intended to work either as the central processing unit or the programmable interface processor whereby the mode of operation depends on the slot in which it is inserted with slot three triggering the CPU mode.

This dual function enables it to fit well in any operation within the system depending on the current requirement. The general characteristics of this module involve a maximum power of 1W at 5V and safety approval for North America shown by the C-UL-US mark. The module is assigned within the B&R system with the ID code $63 and is recommended to be placed in the main rack of the SYSTEM 2005. A noteworthy aspect of the 3IF0606/PL3 is the processor configuration which consists of a local RISC processor core with local RAM and an operating system to boost the processing ability.
