The 3DM476.6 I/O module has an I/O capacity of 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs, making it suitable for industrial control applications that need a lot of I/O. All its channels have status indicators showing both the functionality of the I/O and the operational condition of the outputs using software or LED indicators. With 2.0 W drawn from an external 24 V (DO) supply and 2.5 W drawn from an internal 5 VDC source, the module has efficient power usage. For dependability and security purposes, isolation is provided between various input groups as well as isolation between these input groups and the output group. CE, UKCA and cULus (E115267) certifications prove that this equipment meets industrial control product requirements.

Digital inputs may be arranged into sink or source input circuits with a hardware input filter ^21 ms while they support nominal voltages of up to 24 VDC. As such, this gives accurate signal processing at a rapid rate. The specifications for digital outputs are: nominal voltage of 24 VDC; nominal output current per channel 0.4 A; total nominal current 4.8 A. From source output circuits, there are integrated protective facilities like reverse polarity protection for output power supplies, switching inductive load protection, as well as overcurrent or short circuit thermal shutdowns. To clarify further, the sensor power supply is external.

Having IP20 degree of protection according to EN 60529 makes the 3DM476.6 resistant to various environmental conditions. It can be kept at temperatures ranging from -25 to +70C while operating between +5C to +60C under a relative humidity range within limits from 5% RH up to a non-condensing level of 95% RH. Apart from base units, extension units also accommodate this module, which works together with System2005 single-width eyelets.
