The 3AT660.6/Z I/O module has eight inputs split into two groups, and these inputs are designed for use with thermocouples. Each group of the module has status indicators for temperature sensor, measurement time, and converter function to allow for effective monitoring as well as diagnostics. The module has an LED status indication for the converter and software that enables it to communicate its state. It consumes 6.0 W in operation to 4.75 W at 24 VDC and 1.25 W at 5 VDC to but isolates electrically between PLCs & channels only; not amongst groups or individual channels. CE, UKCA & cULus (E115267) certified makes this device suitable for industrial control equipment.

Depending on the type of sensor used, the measurement for the 3AT660.6/Z ranges vary from -200 to 1300C among supported thermocouple types by this module. These include Type J & L (FeCuNi) as well as Type K (NiCrNi).
