The 3AT660.6/Z I/O module has eight inputs split into two groups, and these inputs are designed for use with thermocouples. Each group of the module has status indicators for temperature sensor, measurement time, and converter function to allow for effective monitoring as well as diagnostics. The module has an LED status indication for the converter and software that enables it to communicate its state. It consumes 6.0 W in operation to 4.75 W at 24 VDC and 1.25 W at 5 VDC to but isolates electrically between PLCs & channels only; not amongst groups or individual channels. CE, UKCA & cULus (E115267) certified makes this device suitable for industrial control equipment.
Depending on the type of sensor used, the measurement for the 3AT660.6/Z ranges vary from -200 to 1300C among supported thermocouple types by this module. These include Type J & L (FeCuNi) as well as Type K (NiCrNi). At an internal digital converter with a measurement time of twenty milliseconds, it gives results equal to more than fourteen bits precision in over twenty-three thousand eight hundred and forty-one internal ADC converters. Converters with correction of terminal temperature internally take conversion duration of one hundred thirty milliseconds with a measurement period of twenty milliseconds while one hundred sixteen point six eight milliseconds are taken when measured within sixteen point six seven millisecond periods. The module produces data in INT format having basic accuracy ~0.5% (Type J & L) or ~0.8% (Type K), based on thermocouples used, at 25C.
The EN60529 mechanical protection class IP20 is met by the housing which ensures robustness under various conditions according to EN60529 requirements. Mountable on extension units as well as base units; works with System 2005 single-width configurations; needs separate purchase of terminal block TB170.
