The 7EX470 is a high-performance CAN bus controller module engineered for industrial automation and process control systems. The reliable unit complies with CAN 2.0 A/B standards for versatile machine-to-machine communication. Housed in a compact, rugged enclosure, the 7EX470 integrates two isolated CAN channels onto a single PLC form factor. This dual-bus design allows complex systems to segregate channels, carry more data traffic as well as introduce redundancy against faults.
Electrical isolation protects each CAN interface as well as the controller itself from field voltage spikes, common in large motor drives and long cable runs. This results in reduced electrical interference for stable data exchange free of corruption and downtime. The wide operating temperature range and vibration resistance allow the 7EX470 to work reliably in demanding factory conditions with shock, contaminants, and moisture. Multiple modules can populate racks to add machine or sensor nodes on evolving CAN networks.
Connections use standard spring clamp terminals, enabling easy integration of actuators, sensors, HMIs, and other CAN-enabled devices. Each channel has separate terminals to simplify wiring and troubleshooting during commissioning and later changes. Diagnostic LEDs confirm operational and communication status externally without needing software tools.
