The ECINT1-1 is an RS232 to RS485 interface converter by B & R Automation. It is used to convert RS232 interface signals to an RS485 signal level. The converter is used in applications where data needs to be transferred over distances that are not supported by an RS232 interface. The signal is converted to an RS485 signal allowing transmission over long distances.
