Product Description
B&R is a manufacturer of highly functional factory automation products designed to simplify work and boost efficiency. The Automation Panel series is a group of display units by the company, consisting of Automation Panels and Automation Panel Link plug-in cards. They can be assembled with other units to allow application-specific operation.
The 5AP920.1505-K21 is a model of B&R’s innovative AP900 automation panels. It has an analog resistive touchscreen and can display up to 16.7 million colors with its thin-film-transistor color display. The resolution of this unit is XGA with 1024 x 768 pixels. It is equipped with three USB 2.0 interfaces of the Type A variant for information transfer with other devices. These interfaces have transfer rates that range between 1.5 Mbit/s and 480 Mbit/s and a maximum current-carrying capacity of 500 mA per connection. The panel also has a slot for the PPC300 and thermal sensors on its display.
Operating the 5AP920.1505-K21 requires a nominal voltage of 24V DC with an allowance of ±25%. It offers galvanic isolation and has a nominal current of 3.2A. The gray frame in front of this display unit is composed of naturally anodized aluminum, while its panel overlay is made from polyester. When an Automation Panel link card is inserted, the back of the panel will not admit solid extrinsic objects over 12mm. Hence, it has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20 on that part. At the front, the Ingress Protection code is IP 65 according to EN 60529. It means that this part is dustproof and impervious to water sprayed from all directions with a hose.
