B&R’s Automation Panel series comprises display units with varying diagonal lengths and other specifications. Each panel consists of two components: an Automation Panel and an Automation Panel Link plug-in card. They promote high-efficiency operations for a wide range of factory automation applications.

The 5AP920.1505-01 is an AP900 automation panel model designed and manufactured by B&R. It has a thin-film-transistor color display with a landscape orientation and an XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. This panel has a diagonal length of 15.0” and features a highly-responsive analog resistive touchscreen. It responds to touch from several touch inputs such as bare fingers and gloved hands. There are three USB 2.0 interfaces of the Type A variant on this device. Their transfer rates are between the low-speed 1.5 Mbits/s and the high-speed 480 Mbits/s. They also have a maximum current-carrying capacity of 500 mA per connection. The weight of the automation panel is approximately 5,100g.

 A thermal sensor on the display of the 5AP920.1505-01 monitors the temperature of the unit and prevents damage due to thermal overload. Its installation can be done easily since it requires a small depth, but this must be done at a maximum height of 3,000m above sea level. It also permits fan-free operation and can be upgraded with accessories like the Automation Panel Link Plug-in Card and the PPC300. With this link card, its back part has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20, preventing dust and solid extrinsic materials over 50mm. The frame of this AP900 panel is composed of naturally anodized aluminum; hence, it is resistant to corrosion.
