Product Description
B&R designs its factory automation units by adopting innovative technologies. It is the manufacturer of the ACOPOS servo drives, a modular set of devices with high flexibility for application-specific functions. The servo drives work with short sampling times and 400 μs communication cycles. They are used in handling technology, paper and printing machines, and plastics processing.
The 8V1016.501-2 is an ACOPOS servo drive designed and manufactured by B&R. Thanks to its partially-coated circuit boards, it is highly resistant to damage caused by harsh environmental factors, including dust, aggressive vapors, and moisture. It has three slots for plug-in modules and has a compact size that supports its mounting within a control cabinet. This servo drive also uses an integrated safe pulse disabling feature to ensure a safe shutdown and prevent the unwanted startup of the machine. It has an integrated braking resistor with a peak power output of 1.9kW and continuous power of 130W. This braking resistor is controlled with a unique mechanism that allows the brake power to be equally distributed on the resistor when there is a DC bus connection between several units.
According to EN 60529, the Ingress Protection rating of the 8V1016.501-2 is IP 20. This means that it does not admit solid extrinsic objects over 12mm in diameter. Its nominal input voltage is a single-phase or three-phase voltage between 110V and 230V with a ±10% tolerance. It also works at switching frequencies of 5kHz, 10kHz, and 20kHz. This ACOPOS servo drive also features an integrated line filter according to EN 61800-3 to suppress radio interference. It is a product of category C3 and is suitable for industrial use.
