8V1 Servo Drive Series

The 8V1 Servo Drive from B&R is designed to provide robust single-axis motion control capabilities. At its core, the 8V1 Servo Drive utilizes field-proven servo technology to deliver tight velocity and torque control loops for connected servomotors. Using integrated power output stages, the 8V1 Servo Drive can source the necessary current to operate servomotors directly without requiring external amplifiers or supplies. Communication is handled via industry-standard fieldbuses and EtherCAT, opening the 8V1 Servo Drive up to integration with many controller and software platforms. Programmable functions allow configuring the drive for different motor and application types. Motion profiles can be specified in position, velocity, or torque modes depending on the needs of the process. Precise feedback is supported through motor encoder inputs to enable closed-loop profiles. Additional features of the 8V1 Servo Drive include regenerative braking, electronic gearing, identification routines, and programmable I/O to integrate auxiliary devices and signals. Configurable ramp generators, filters and limits ensure smooth and safe motion. The 8V1 Servo Drive is robustly constructed for reliability in demanding motion control applications under wide ambient conditions and vibration.
