Product Description
B&R is a manufacturer of a wide range of motors and gear motors designed for general industrial use. It is the designer of the 8LS three-phase synchronous motors suited especially for high-performance operations. These include applications in the plastics industry, metalworking industry, beverage and food industry, and packaging industry.
The 8LSA56.S1045D200-1 is a model of the 8LS three-phase synchronous motors designed and manufactured by B&R. It is an electronically commutated servo motor with a compact size that gives it low weight and optimal power density. The motor’s nominal speed is 4,500 revolutions per minute, and it can generate a nominal torque of 12.7Nm and maximum torque of 55.2Nm. This motor’s rotor has a moment of inertia of 10.66 kgcm2, and it is equipped with a holding brake of 15Nm holding torque. The holding brake is a permanent-magnet model designed to be installed behind the A flange on the motor. This 8LS model also has a smooth shaft end with a threaded center hole. It provides a force-fit shaft-hub connection that ensures a backlash-free connection and excellent operating smoothness.
Like other 8LS synchronous motors, the 8LSA56.S1045D200-1 has a form A oil seal according to DIN 3760. It grants the motor an IP 65 rating per EN 60034-5, indicating that it is completely dust-proof, touch-proof, and impermeable by sprays from water jets. Thanks to its water-based coating, it displays resistance against corrosive agents and abrasion. This coating is also an eco-friendly option. The encoder of the 8LSA56.S1045D200-1 is a multi-turn optical encoder with the EnDat 2.2 interface. It detects the motor’s absolute indirect position within 4,096 motor rotations.
