Product Description
B&R Industrial Automation has a specialization in factory and machine control systems. Its products include servo drives, planetary gearboxes, software, and MAPP technology. The B&R 8LS synchronous motors are specifically designed for high-performance applications. There are several motors in the 8LS series, and this makes it possible to meet requirements regarding the reduction of the variety of parts, ease of service, and less space. Its areas of use include the plastics industry, packaging industry, metalworking industry, beverage and food industry, and handling systems.
The 8LSA25.D9060S000-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor made out of permanent magnets. It is an electronically commutated motor used for applications that require high dynamics, high precision position, compact size, and minimal weight. This motor has a built-in connector on the motor side. It operates with a single cable solution where a hybrid cable is used for the encoder and power connections. This model is self-cooling with a slim and elongated design. It is attached to the machine with a mounting flange which doubles as a cooling surface.
The encoder system of the 8LSA25.D9060S000-3 is an inductive EnDat2.2 multi-turn encoder with 4096 revolutions. It has a nominal speed of 6,000 rpm and is equipped with a smooth shaft end. The shaft is used for a force-fit shaft-hub connection and guarantees a backlash-free connection between the shaft and hub with a high degree of operating smoothness. Thanks to optimized torque rippling in this 8LS model, it displays a high level of controllability. It should be operated at a maximum ambient temperature of 55°C and installed at a maximum height of 2,000 m above sea level.
