Product Description
The 5PC800.B945-04 is a CPU board designed by B & R Automation as part of the 5PC industrial Automation series. The board contains the processing unit which carries out computation operation in whole automation product. The processor integrated on this industrial CPU board is the Intel T7400 processor with 2 cores and a clock frequency measured to be about 2160 megahertz. Although this CPU board does not feature any external housing, it can reliably withstand operation in environments exposed to mild and moderate vibrations. Also, it is possible to use this CPU board in ambient temperatures that does not exceed 50 degrees. The installation, and handling of this CPU board is very easy to carry out, however it should be carried out by well trained engineers who are familiar with B & R product.
The 5PC800.B945-04 CPU board operates with an Embedded AMI BIOS bootloader, which control major operation in the automation system. The processor embedded into on this CPU board has an architecture of 65 nanometers. The L1 cache memory capacity of the processor on the CPU board is 32 kilobytes, there is another L2 cache memory with a capacity measured to be about 2 megabytes.
There is an external bus integrated in this CPU board for the connection of peripheral and external devices. The External bus operates at a speed that has been measured to be about 533 megahertz. A real time clock is also installed with this product to help the processor carry out time sensitive operations. The operation of the clock is supported by an internal battery. Although the processor on this CPU board does not generate too much heat during operation, there is an internal air blower in the automation system that helps to ensure that the risk of over heating on the board is close to zero.
