The 5D5601.03 is a modern industrial display designed by B&R Automation manufactured for industrial operations. The display is a product of extensive industry research and development, it has a compact size but still provides operators with a complete control over the operation of the industrial PC unit. Being a product of B&R automation, this display unit is built for the IPC5000 and IPC5600 industrial PC units which are also B&R automation products. When used with either of these PC units, the display can be directly integrated on the housing of the unit or installed away from it for remote operation. The maximum allowed distance between the display and the PC unit during remote installation is approximately 10 meters. The mounting screws and connecting cables required for the installation of this display unit are included in the delivery package of the display unit.

The 5D5601.03 display unit is unlike traditional displays as it is equipped with both a keypad and a sophisticated touchscreen technology. This dual control options makes the display one of the most user friendly devices for control and monitoring operations. The Display type of this device is the Thin Film Transistor, there is also a Compact Fluorescent background light that provides the characteristic high background light intensity of the display unit.

The 5D5601.03 display is classified to belong to IP20 protection category, however its front panel meets the IP65 protection class as it is completely resistant to dusts and even water penetration directed at it from any angle. The keypad of this display contains 46 function keys with Light Emitting Diodes, it also features 25 system keys and 1 system key with Light emitting diode.
