The 5D5501.09 is a compact and extremely durable industrial display unit designed by B&R as a part of its initiative to provide state-of-the-art solutions that improve industrial processes. This display unit is light weight device that can be installed directly on the Industrial PC unit, or used for remote operation at a maximum distance of 10 meters away from the display. The display panel is not a touch screen device, however to still provides operators with an impressively high degree of control through its keypad. The keypad contains a total of 43 pressure sensitive keys, 20 of these keys are system keys, while the 23 remaining are classified as function keys with LEDs. The display is a Thin Film Transistor display that can render up to 262,144 different colors and maintain a high image quality at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

The 5D5501.09 display is also an energy efficient device, despite its impressive operation conditions it consumes very little power. The light weight design of the display makes transportation, storage, and mounting operations very easy. The frame of the 5D5501.09 display unit is made from anodized aluminum material, this material is preferred for its high durability, easy of maintenance, color stability, and high resistance to deterioration

The 5D5501.09 display is safe for long term operation, it has a non-reflective and anti-glare screen. Heat in this display unit is dissipated away from the device through natural convection, to prevent the rapid build up of heat, the display should be installed in an environment where the ambient temperature is not higher than 50 degrees celsius. During storage, an ambient temperature as high as 60 degree celsius is permitted.
