The 5C2000.03 is from the 5C2 series of industrial control systems that offer intelligent control systems and is manufactured by B & R automation. The system has the capability to run multiple operating systems due to its IBM AT standard complicance. The controller is operated on a 24 Volt DC power source and consumes a power of 15 Watt. The system can be installed at maximum altitude of up to 3000 meters. The operating temperature of the system ranges from 0 to 45 degree celsius. The controller supports a multitude of LCD displays including LCD monochrome, LCD color, and TFT color ranging from 320 x 240 pixel resolution to 640 x 480.

The 5C2000.03 boasts an intelligent processor 80486SXLC2-50 with a dedicated DRAM of 4 MB. The system also has an impressive hard disk of 504 MB and six serial interfaces including 2 that are electrically insolated and 4 that are 16 byte FIFO. The 5C2000.03 has 2 PC slots of type II of the PCMCIA 2.0 / JEDIA 4.1 and it has a fan for temperature control. The controller offers a reliable Dallas Hardware security key and has an External diskette drive connection of 3.5 inch and 1.44 MB. The systems works best with a relaitve humidity of 5 - 95%.

The 5C2000.03 has 1 parallel interface and its CAN bus interface are electrically isolated. The controller offers connection for both flat display and a monitor that increases its modularity in industrial settings. The integrated keyboard is of the PS / 2 AT type. The controller has two status LEDs, one for indicating that voltage supply is ok and another for indicating if the housing temperature is very high.
