5C2 Compact Processor Series
The B&R 5C2 Compact Processor Series is an extensive line of modular industrial automation controllers known for their robust processing capabilities and versatile connectivity. At the heart of each 5C2 Compact Processor system is an 80486DX2-66 MHz Intel processor, ensuring fast and reliable execution of automation applications. Complementing the powerful processor is a generous allocation of both DRAM and SRAM memory ranging from 16 MB up to 64 MB, providing plenty of storage for complex user programs and data. Additional onboard non-volatile memory in the form of a CompactFlash slot provides data security. Where the 5C2 Compact Processor Series truly shines is in its multitude of integrated I/O options. Serial ports allow for straightforward fieldbus communication over protocols like RS-232 and RS-422/RS-485. Built-in CAN bus support opens up possibilities for cost-effective sensor/actuator networks. A parallel port and PC-Card interface expand the controllers’ functionality. Control panels and HMI devices connect effortlessly via flat displays and PS/2 ports. External components such as keyboards, drives and relays tie into the 5C2 Compact Processor using integrated 24VDC power.
