This converter makes operation via Smart Display Link (SD4) N4 automation panels possible for B & R industrial PCs that are not equipped with an Smart Display Link 4 interface or SD4 slot. The application of this converter makes it easy to upgrade systems to SD4 as part of retrofit measures and converter. The operation of this converter with any industrial PC via the Smart Display link requires special Smart Display Link cable for effective communication, this cables are to be ordered separately and should not exceed a maximum length of 100 meters.

The 5C0SD4.1000-00 converter features two main Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) which provide diagnostic information about the operation of the converter. The converter also features a USB interface that can transmit data at a maximum speed of about 480 megabits per second.
