The B&R Automation 5A5001. 05, a member of the 5A6 family, is designed to address the storage needs of industrial automation systems. This is a hard disk drive that comes with a rather large storage capacity of 6 GB, adequate for storing important data and programs.
It has an ATA/IDE interface as a means of connection which makes it compatible with most industrial computers and its installation is quite easy. Working at the rotational speed of 4200 RPM and having a buffer size of 512 KB the 5A5001. 05 is designed to be fast and efficient in data retrieval and integrity. It has an average seek time of 13 ms, with the track-to-track access time being only 3 ms and the full stroke access time being 26 ms. The following specifications show the capability of the drive to navigate data access procedures based on different operational conditions. This model has a data transfer rate of up to 150 MB/s to enhance the handling of large files and applications to ensure efficient running. The power consumption is not high and the circuit works on 5V ~ 5% which is a common supply voltage in industrial applications. Another important aspect is the temperature range, which is from 5 degrees C to 55 degrees C due to temperature resilience. For non-operating conditions, it can operate within a temperature range of -40 degrees C to 65 degrees C meaning that it is durable and can retain data even in harsh conditions. The shock resistance is high at 175G for 2ms in normal operation and 800G for 1ms in non-operating mode to protect the device from impacts and vibrations that are common in industrial environments.
