Product Description
The 4PP220.1043-B5 is an original creation of B&R Industrial Automation intended for monitoring industrial systems, machines, and processes. At the heart of its construction, the 4PP220.1043-B5 utilizes a powerful Geode SC2200 processor that clocks at 266 megahertz. During the boot sequence, the 4PP220.1043-B5 uses the Automation runtime common to all power panels utilizing the Geode SC2200 processor. The 4PP220.1043-B5 has a dedicated 2 MB flash memory, 64 MB DRAM, and 256 kB SRAM. The SRAM is battery-buffered and has less capacity available than the DRAM present. SRAM uses flip-flops to store data, while DRAM uses capacitors. Between these two memory types, SRAM is faster but more complex and expensive, while DRAM is slower but simpler and cheaper.
Aside from its powerful processor and memory, the 4PP220.1043-B5 also features a robust set of communication ports, interfaces, and slots. The 4PP220.1043-B5 supports USB 1.1 connections, Ethernet communication, RS232, and CompactFlash. It also uses a MacPhyter DP83816 controller for the Ethernet, allowing a data transfer rate of 10/100 Mbps. Meanwhile, the two USB 1.1 interfaces allow data transfer rates between 1.5 Mbps and 12 Mbps at full speed. Each USB interface draws 500 mA of current during operation.
The 4PP220.1043-B5 also boasts a color thin-film transistor display with video graphics array resolution (VGA). The diagonal for the power panel's display measures 10.4 inches, or 264 millimeters. The screen has 256 colors and a contrast ratio of 600:1. Throughout its operation, B&R recommends an environmental temperature between 0 and 50 degrees C. Approximately, the 4PP220.1043-B5 weighs 4.2 kilograms without APCI modules.
