The 4E0031.01-590 is a PANELWARE keypad module developed by B&R Automation under the 4E0 product line. Keypad modules by B&R Automation have the same construction, material, and dimension. Their differences lie in the number of keypads present and their type. Some keypad modules in the 4E0 series cannot be used with other modules and are only intended to serve a specific purpose. For the case of the 4E0031.01-590, it has eight black short stroke keys with eight corresponding LEDs. Aside from its extensive keypad, it also offers an additional field for user labels.

The 4E0031.01-590 requires 135 mA of continuous current at a 24-volt DC supply to function properly. At normal working conditions, the keypad module functions well at a wide operating range between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. Under storage and transportation conditions, the 4E0031.01-590 can withstand an even wider temperature range, particularly between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius.
