Product Description
The 0GH-IP161 module, manufactured by B&R, is a robust programmable I/O processor featuring a local processor core equipped with a RISC processor, local system RAM, and an integrated operating system. This module operates efficiently with a power consumption of 5 V at Max. 6.5 W and 24 V at Max. 11.5 W, including external potentiometer supply if used, resulting in a total maximum power draw of 18 W.
Designed for high-speed operations, it boasts a typical instruction cycle time of 0.4 us, ensuring rapid data processing. The DPR area (or "PPdpr" Library) serves as the critical communication interface between the CPU PLC and the programmable I/O processor, enabling seamless data exchange. Each parallel processor in the B&R Automation Studio requires a dedicated project, ensuring the PLC CPU and local processor maintain consistent access to the data area, particularly for UINT data types. However, it's important to note that larger data structures are not supported, emphasizing the module's specialization in handling specific data formats.
The 0GH-IP161 can be easily integrated into a CAN bus system using its CAN interface, allowing for broader connectivity within an industrial network. The IF1 RS232 interface is specifically designed for connecting to programming devices, while the RS232 interface IF3 is available for tasks such as visualization, often utilizing the AC961 bus adapter. This configuration ensures the IF1 interface remains free for online connectivity, optimizing system flexibility. The module supports a Baud Rate of up to 115.2 kBaud and is compatible with both sink and source wiring configurations. With its B&R 2005 double-width design and compact dimensions, the 0GH-IP161 module is a powerful solution for complex industrial automation tasks.
