The ZK4000-6261-0020 can be considered as a unique model in the ZK Motor Cable Series which Beckhoff has developed to ensure the proper connection of motors in numerous industrial applications.

This model is uniform in terms of installation size and coding but has different connectors at the two ends and this improves its flexibility in system configurations. All the specifications of Head A and Head B of this cable are the same in this regard, thus making the cable suitable for applications that require symmetry. Both ends have an M12 installation size, which is the common approach used to guarantee a reliable and strong connection in the industrial setting. This size is particularly preferred because it provides an optimal compromise between compactness and connectivity. Head A is fitted with a socket connector type with a female contact type, typical in many industries where the end product is highly valuable. It uses a 4-pin layout with A code to make sure that the cable can only be connected to other A-coded devices to avoid wrong or damaging connections. While being very similar to Head A, Head B has a few differences: it has a plug connector with male contacts and supports a 4-pin, A-coded configuration. This male-to-female arrangement then makes it easier to plug and unplug different components sequentially, which can be very useful in systems with many sub-assemblies. Both ends of the cable are constructed without a shield, which is sufficient for applications where interference from electromagnetic sources is not expected.
